The more languages, the fewer texts per language. ©CSA Research 2019 In most cases, you choose one (more languages) or the other (more texts). The less material there is overall, the more realistic it becomes in terms of cost and complexity to translate most or all of it. Ian:This decision is certainly not easy given the usually limited budget. Tim:That's right, most of the time you have to make some kind of compromise. Most of our customers translate to achieve business benefits. So of course you look at where the money is. For example, if a company invests in Germany with its 80 million inhabitants and a high overall purchasing power, then the decision is relatively easy and you will certainly not only translate the bare minimum.

However, if you want to expand into the Netherlands, then the decision becomes HK Phone Number more difficult. The Netherlands is also a country with high purchasing power, but only has 10 million inhabitants. In addition, most Dutch people speak English or German very well, making the cost of an additional translation into Dutch even more difficult to justify. So if you have to choose, you would probably have more material translated into German than into Dutch. In addition to the language itself, the country-specific language variant may also need to be taken into account.  or also into Swiss and Belgian French? English for Great Britain or also for the USA? Spanish only for Spain? There are enough arguments for also taking language variants into account.

But certainly enough against it. If you translate into French not only for France, but also for Switzerland and Belgium, the costs do not triple, but overall it becomes more complex, more expensive and takes longer. Ian:Is it mainly a question of budget? I mean, if I had unlimited resources, would I have all my content translated into 20 or 30 languages? Tim:No, it's not just about the budget. It's also about being able to meet the needs of customers in every country. For example, if there is no good sales structure, then it is relatively pointless to translate for this market.
